Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus

Overall remarks:

The goal of this treatment is to stop the progression and reduce the rate of appearance and the magnitude of the symptoms. As well as to stop the comorbidities caused by Diabetes.   • Fill out the Medical History and complement it with a physical examination.
  • Request pre-existing laboratory tests and clinical studies (3 months old)
  • Request laboratory tests:
    • Complete Blood Count with Platelets (CBC)
    • Lipid panel (12 samples)
    • Blood Chemistry Test (4 samples)
    • Diabetic Profile: Glucose (GLC), Glycosylated Hemoglobin (HbA1C), Basal Insulin and Postprandial Insulin
  • Adequate diet, try to avoid eating only processed foods; balanced intake of protein, healthy fats and compound carbohydrates.
  • Include physical activity.

The goals of the therapy are:

To control glycemia, regulate insulin secretion and its use, avoid oxidative stress, avoid and decrease inflammation, decrease or eradicate exogenous drugs and hormones, promote physical activity and rehabilitation, weight control and nutrition.
